Almost everyone had Colts star Sauce Gardner's birthday of years and now he's setting the record straight

You'd think that one of the easiest pieces of personal information to nail down on a pro athlete would be their birthday, but, for some reason, almost everyone has totally whiffed on Indianapolis Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner's birthday.

For years, a huge swath of the Internet, including Wikipedia (which of course gets things wrong all the time), ESPN, Pro Football Reference and The Athletic have all reportedly listed Gardner's birthday as Aug. 31, 2000, which would make him 25 years old.

However, the NFL star says he's not 25. He's 24.

"I’m 24!" Gardner said at Colts minicamp, per The Athletic. "It’s crazy that I’m even being asked this."

When asked if he was sure, he said yes and that if anyone needed further proof, they could ask his mom.

Of course, they could also check his ID, passport or any official documents since he entered the league because those all say he was born on Aug. 31, 2001, which would make him 24.

Yet somehow, most people have gotten this wrong for years, even "Madden."

"It’s wrong in Madden, too? That’s crazy because I never checked," Gardner said. "Because when it comes to the paperwork and everything I’ve signed, it all says ’01. So, I don’t know where or how it got messed up unless people just get it straight from Google."

This is wild.

I mean, it's not like it's a huge deal. He's not some 16-year-old trying to make people think he's 12 so he can play in the Little League World Series; parking blocks away from the field so no one knows he drove there and shaving between innings to maintain appearances.

It's just a goofy quirk that goes to show that even in the age of the Internet and AI, things are messed up all the time.

Even simple things like this.
